During several years of underwater target shooting competitions we perfected the use of inverters. A particular way of tying the rubbers, often combining two different diameters results in a very controlled acceleration of the spear.
The number of loads can be increased, all very easily and the shaft is pushed progressively from rubbers, which contract in the opposite direction of the spear. Thereby recoil is reduced and accuracy increased significantly.
The technique is applicable to almost all lengths of guns, obviously more significant with larger spear shafts, because the large diameter of the shaft itself leads to an increase of recoil.
With appropriate stretch factors, it makes loading the gun easier.
Recommended for anyone who wants better performance and optimize the efficiency of the rubbers.
