Underwater fishing trips in Sardinia

Apart from a few dives without a speargun to admire the seabed of the natural reserves of Sardinia, the island offers several destinations suitable for underwater fishing, suitable for all tastes: from the windy and difficult area of Carloforte a Stintino, at the other end of the island, where it is possible to fish sea bream and sea bream even at less than 10 meters.

Any coastal town in Sardinia can offer exciting diving and rich fishing trips. There are the slabs ofQuirra Island, on the eastern side, where to settle bream and croaker even of large dimensions, and the Peppino Rock, at the southern end of the splendid Costa Rei, where you can fish on a shallow seabed that is always very clean, where very white sand alternates with granite rock.

A little further north we meet the Three Peaks of Muravera, with a very rich seabed that never goes deeper than 20 meters (and which is also a very popular destination for divers with tanks). North of the island, in the area Golfo Aranci , you can experience the Island of Figarolo and the Railway, i.e. the coastal area between the port of Golfo Aranci and Cala Moresca: obviously, given the tourist attractiveness of the area, this destination should be taken into consideration for short-distance trips spear fishing in low season, with rigorous fishing at dawn or dusk.

In the far north of Sardinia there are several natural reserves, and their surroundings offer some of the richest fishing ever: Marble Point, for example, is known for the size of its fish – often decidedly non-standard.

Underwater fishing and more: trip to Salento

The last of the underwater destinations that we propose will certainly be able to combine freediving with excellent excursions among incredible artistic and food and wine treasures to be enjoyed in the company of the family: we are talking about the Salento, the land of Puglia between the two seas.

On the western side, between Punta Prosciutto e Borraco Tower, you can dive on mixed seabeds that slope gently and offer rocks, grottos, areas of coral, posidonia meadows and sandy seabeds. With a maximum depth of 25 meters, this itinerary is also suitable for less experienced fishermen. Off the rocky coast you can make splendid catches even in a few meters of water, to appearance or ambush, and beyond certain depths it is also possible to come across some very rare grouper.

Just further south is the stretch of Ionian coast that goes by Inserraglio Tower a Tower from Above, a few kilometers from Gallipoli. The rather impervious rocky coast makes the area less busy than the tourist areas, but you have to be very careful of the numerous gillnets that fishermen lower a few meters from the cliff. Off the coast of Torre Inserraglio you can also admire (and exploit) gods ship wrecks which are located approximately 30 meters deep.

Sul Adriatic side, however, there is the splendid itinerary that passes Otranto, between Weather in Punta Palascia e Torre dell'Orso. Here the sea of Puglia offers grotto seabeds, sudden drops and ridges that allow you to practice any underwater fishing technique, from fishing in the hole to fishing in the blue. The fishing in the coast in summer can only be affected by the strong presence of swimmers and boats, but those who have the opportunity to go a little further will be able to appreciate the extraordinary and fishy seabed of Puglia.
